Your Responsibilities
Supports onboarding activities by sending new hire welcome emails and setting up associate digital files and I9 compliance as well as facilitating new hire orientation.
Handles, routes, and responds to the HR inbox inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution and / or escalation to include being a primary point of contact for AI related escalations.
Initiates HRIS systemic tasks such as job requisitions, cost center changes, supervisor org changes; approves select associate related changes.
Prepares manual offer letters and memos for associate changes as well as immigration related documents and initiates signature requests through DocuSign, as needed.
Provides a variety of regular reporting to include retention and engagement.
Supports employee engagement events, departmental events, and assists in planning team activities by securing conference room reservations, sending out invitations, gathering supplies, and/or arranging for catering as needed.
Monitors associates' completion of compliance training and sends out email reminders.
Handles incoming mail by reviewing, responding, or directing it to the appropriate team as well as the team's records retention.
Assists with invoice processing and budget assistance, as needed.
Supports workers compensation reporting activities.
Responds to employment verification requests.
Assists the Talent Performance & Belonging team with miscellaneous administrative requests.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
Requires 2 year's experience in an HR support role, or related operational or administrative support experience.
Bachelor's degree or High School diploma.
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and personal information.
Experience with Workday a plus
Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Your Team
This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director, Human Resources. You will have peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Human Resources Specialist, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $48,000 to $60,000.00 annually.
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
