General Description
SUNY Niagara is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Dean of the College of Nursing, Physical and Allied Health. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is responsible for academic leadership, program oversight, and strategic direction for all Nursing, Allied Health, and Physical Education programs. This role ensures compliance with all accreditation standards and promotes a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and student success.
The Dean is a key member of the College's Academic Council and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administration, and external stakeholders to align divisional goals with SUNY Niagara's mission and strategic plan. This position also plays a pivotal role in faculty development, program assessment, and community engagement to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.
About Our Nursing, Physical and Allied Health division:
The Nursing, Physical & Allied Health programs offer degrees in the fields of Dietetics, Health Studies, Licensed Practical Nurse, Massage Therapy, Medical Assistant, Personal Training, Phlebotomist, Physical Education Studies, Registered Nurse, Radiologic Technology, and Surgical Technology. Many of our programs provide clinical experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, and community-based facilities. Our labs provide hands-on experience with the newest technology and medical equipment in the field. We also have a simulation lab that will emulate real-life scenarios in our nursing programs.

Typical Work Activities
Responsible for the administration and oversight of theregistered nurse and practical nursing programs, medical assistant program, phlebotomy program, massage therapy program, physical therapist assistant program, radiologic technology program, surgical technology program, and other new health-related programs in development or to be developed.
Provide leadership to advance the division's mission and goals and develop a divisional strategic plan that is aligned with the college's strategic plan.
Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and initiatives to enhance the quality of instruction and student learning outcomes.
Recommend appointments, evaluate, and supervise faculty, program coordinators, and staff with the Academic Division.
Collaborate with faculty and external stakeholders to incorporate interdisciplinary approaches and emerging pedagogies.
Is the liaison to the specialized accrediting agencies for allied health and nursing programs as well as state and SUNY entities, ensuring that each program meets accreditation standards, is timely in producing documents and reports for self-studies, and responds to accrediting agency, state, or SUNY queries. Facilitates on-site visits by accrediting agencies.
In consultation with the program coordinators, oversee the development, review, and revision of curricula to meet academic standards, class scheduling, and admissions requirements.
Oversees the curriculum, scheduling of classes and clinicals, admissions requirements, student learning outcomes, assessment process, and student evaluations for each program in consultation with faculty and the program coordinators.
Ensure the assessment of student learning outcomes and the continuous improvement of academic programs and student evaluations for each program.
Coordinate and develop a master schedule and teaching assignments consistent with student needs, ensuring programs are staffed with qualified instructors to meet the program's requirements within budget parameters.

Implements and monitors recommendations and required changes as a result of accreditation/PEERs as well as changes in college policies and procedures.
Implement Academic Affairs policies and procedures for all Academic Policies and Standards and regulations and propose changes to current standards.
Preparation of the annual budget, facilities, and equipment requests for the allied health and nursing programs for review by the VPAA and Executive Council.
Allocate resources effectively to support instructional needs, faculty development, and student services and identify external funding opportunities and grants to support programmatic initiatives and innovation.
Works with program coordinators to develop and coordinate agreements between the college and health care offices and agencies for clinical and externship placements of students.
Establishes and conducts meetings with each of the programs and program coordinators.
Coordinates with other college departments and divisions as needed to facilitate faculty and student success.
Collaborate with student services departments to enhance student success and retention initiatives, provide academic advising and support services to students within the division, and address student concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.
Respond to faculty and student questions and concerns regarding curriculum or course requirements.
Updates College catalogue and website, develops program brochures, and attends meetings as appropriate.
Provides and/or approves professional development opportunities for full-time and part-time faculty and staff.
Represents allied health and nursing programs to the public, media, board of trustees, and internal and external groups.
Other duties as assigned by the VPAA .

Required Qualifications
Master's degree with a major in nursing;
Current certification as a Registered Nurse in New York State
Experience in an administrative role in a higher education institution including budgetary responsibilities, monitoring or conducting staff and faculty recruitment, hiring, and supervision;
Experience with curriculum development and assessment of learning for nursing and/or allied health programs;
Experience with development and/or review of accreditation self-studies, program reviews, and/or responses to site visits;
Experience in conducting faculty orientations, evaluations, and classroom observations;
Experience with mentoring faculty;
Desirable Qualifications
Doctoral degree with course work in administration or health education;
Teaching experience in an associate degree nursing program;
Experience working at a community college.
