ACCOUNT MANAGER - VSD
ABOUT YOU:
The role of Account Manager - VSD contributes to the growth of established accounts within the Yearbook Division by deepening distribution penetration within current customers and providing exemplary customer service and account management within the defined territories. Incumbents utilize a combination of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build strong professional relationships with teammates, yearbook representatives, and customers, a competitive spirit, a passion for the customer, a strong business acumen, and a set of professional values consistent with Jostens corporate values.
Incumbents work closely with the yearbook representatives in retaining, servicing, and growing established accounts with the Yearbook Division, successfully advancing sales in customer environments while effectively managing the balance between sales, service, and administrative responsibilities. Incumbents must thoroughly understand the middle school/high school market and the consumer marketing processes designed to position Jostens as a strategic resource for customers, as well as organizational processes to effectively support yearbook representatives with customer relationships. Additionally, they collaborate with production constituents, such as yearbook advisers, staff members, and plant consultants, to position Jostens as a partner. Incumbents select, adapt, organize, and execute consumer marketing strategies tailored to the specific circumstances and constraints of each customer and lead the planning and execution of the consumer promotional marketing plan within their defined territories.
Incumbents of this role are required to be available during their assigned Rep(s) school hours, to provide their own mobile device, and to distribute their mobile phone number accordingly. Alternatively, individuals may distribute their office phone number if their office phone is set to forward calls to their personal device when they are not physically present.
YOU WILL:
Book and Ad Marketing to Increase Copies and Revenue:
Develop and deliver localized school revenue/marketing plans and delivering content consistent with company marketing/revenue strategies.
Manage JNET enrollments, school lists, CMP email campaigns, Exact Target emails, Plan and Promote emails, and YBA coverage reports.
Advance sales by increasing copy count and ad revenue, within existing accounts using digital, social, and in-school marketing.
Regularly pull reports, check dashboards and monitor progress of copy sales, ad sales, and list status. Then adjust marketing efforts accordingly.
Yearbook Production Management:
Prioritize and make decisions involving customer communications, various deadlines, and school page creation support in a timely manner to strengthen on time yearbook production.
Assist with and monitor progress of cover specs, contracts, and renewals.
Layout Pro and Monarch creation technical and creative support to enhance customer production experience.
Help upload portraits, flow portrait pages, flow Index pages, and place ads.
Proactive Tasks:
Initiate and conduct regular planning phone calls with assigned Reps to discuss and plan current and upcoming projects and tasks; execute on those projects and tasks; track the results; and report status/progress back to the Reps.
Assist and manage ongoing adviser communication through email/phone calls on behalf of the Reps using VSD Team best practices and annual task cadence.
Organize and coordinate cover specifications, production specifications, workshops, contests, adviser surveys, and other detailed projects.
Interact directly with customer through phone calls and emails as part of rep-directed tasks and projects (Levels 2&3).
Keep contact information for prospect schools up to date in Salesforce, including calling schools when needed to gain this information.
YOU HAVE:
Experience. 3+ years' experience in successful customer relations. Understanding of the industry and competition. Preferred key account management experience to demonstrate relationship support to assigned school accounts and demonstrated knowledge of Jostens programs, products and services.
Education. Associates degree in a business or service field, or combination of education and equivalent experience. Preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Communications, etc).
Technical Skills. Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat, with the ability to learn and master job-specific business software. Ability to pass internet remote speed test requirements for remote work and ability to use computer regularly for all scheduled hours. Preferred 2+ years yearbook experience within the schoolhouse or within Jostens. Preferred experience/knowledge of Salesforce, JNET, YBA, Layout Pro, Jostens page creation methods and other applicable systems/ software.
Attention to Detail. Ability to maintain precise and current printing and yearbook product knowledge. Follows policy and procedures, with ability and willingness to assume mentor/train role for new hires. Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills. Excellent decision-making skills, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills. Ability to produce excellent work with limited supervision in a virtual environment.
Professionalism. Ability to establish and maintain a professional working office space within the home environment for virtual work that is free from outside noise, distractions, and interference.
Agility. Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced and stressful role, and work independently as well as in a team-based structure. Willingness and initiative to take on additional responsibilities. Ability to respond and adapt to frequent change. Ability to adhere to an established team working hours schedule, including start/stop time and availability to service reps in different time zones.
Great Communication Skills. Ability to collaborate and maintain strong business relationships with Sales Reps and customer base. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that are easily understood by customers. Ability to communicate and problem solve when under stress.
Drive. Professional demeanor and a sense of urgency. Ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and diligence.
Time Tracking. Ability to accurately and consistently record time and tasks performed for all working hours using established task management software and maintain a proper balance of worktime allotted to each client per week.
Typical/Expected % of Overnight Travel. Travel for training in corporate office or at Annual Business Meetings, or Pocket Meetings, 2-5 days annually.
