THE WORK:
You'll provide safety management oversight for multiple construction sites across the district.
You'll monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
You'll conduct daily safety inspections based on BuildLACCD Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
You'll ensure contractor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) policies.
You'll support the Program Safety Manager through meetings, reporting, and safety analysis.
You'll lead safety discussions at construction meetings and review hazard preparedness.
You'll perform ongoing safety inspections and generate detailed daily safety reports.
You'll submit weekly Health, Safety, and Environmental Observation Reports to project leadership.
You'll review contractor safety plans and documents for completeness and compliance (e.g., JHAs, Fall Protection, Lift Plans).
You'll evaluate incident reports, participate in stand-downs, and share lessons learned.
You'll conduct and document safety orientations with contractor representatives.
You'll enforce the zero-tolerance safety policy and recommend corrective actions as needed.
You'll adapt to working at multiple construction sites, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
$118,181 - $130,000 a year
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Minimum of holding a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) - (include copy of certificate in resume package)
10 years' of commercial construction experience in the US with a General Contractor
5 years' experience in California with a Contractor or major subcontractor
2 years' experience in construction of educational projects in a campus environment
Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification - include copy in resume package for verification
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
Construction management, safety management, safety engineer or related degree is preferred
Additional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this position
Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER
Current OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) - (include copy of certificate in resume package)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other basic software programs used in Construction
Strong experience managing field construction teams on multiple projects
Experience on demolition, renovation, and new construction building projects
Experience working on OCIP programs
Experience on modernization/renovation projects involving abatement, remediation of hazardous materials, hazardous material waste removal and handling, such as asbestos and lead based paint
Strong experience working senior management and field teams on large building programs across multiple sites and locations
Experience participating in scheduled construction Meetings with Contractors and Project Managers
Strong experience in safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting for multiple projects
Ability to effectively communicate with Owner's Construction Management staff and Contractor's Site Management Team
Ability to manage, control, and report safety incidents in a timely manner in accordance with OSHA regulations and Owner's Requirements
