Job SummaryThe Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Distribution Center, ensuring efficient coordination of transportation, warehousing, and related logistics services to meet customer satisfaction, service quality, safety and cost-efficiency goals. This role plays a critical part in driving operational success through strong leadership, clear communication, and team motivation.Essential Duties andResponsibilitiesResponsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving functions and working closely with our carrier partners.Works closely with management and personnel at the corporate officeMaintains control of inventory and equipment.Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulationsResponsible for the security of property.Ensures the branch operates in an efficient manner by utilizing effective methods of packing, set-up, delivery, pick-up of book fairs; utilize capacity planning and staffing methods to assure optimum productivity.Maintains a clean, safe, and productive work environment while focusing on minimizing work-related injuries and auto losses, complying with OSHA guidelines, and Company directives.Directs hiring, training, developing and evaluating drivers, warehouse personnel and supervisory staff.Executes company policies, procedures, and programs in a professional, effective, and timely manner.Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements5 years of managing a warehouse team with proven leadership preferred.Exposure to all key facets of a distribution operation is required.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP software.Experience with forklift, stock picker, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment a plus.Problem solver with a can do attitude.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task and handle deadline-oriented tasks.EquipmentPersonal desktop computers, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, writing instruments, telephone, various printers, and tape measureIssued safety equipmentSafetyHazards - Exposure to chemicals/fumes, pinch points, exposure to excessive noise,strain/sprain, laceration/puncture, particulate exposure, contusion, temperature extremes, slipping, burns, shock, loss of limbsControls - Personal protective equipment, safety training, written proceduresSafety Equipment Hard hat, back belt, safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant outerwear, other equipment as dictated by the specific department.Work EnvironmentNoise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls, and PPE.While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals.While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the companys hazardous communication program.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Target Salary: $81,900 - $102,300What CRL / OBEOffers Y
