Director of Accounting

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Accounting to oversee and manage the accounting operations for our organization based in Columbus, Ohio. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across financial processes while fostering a culture of excellence within the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.

Guarantee the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

Prepare and oversee the creation of financial statements that align with organizational standards.

Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with applicable policies.

Collaborate with external auditors to manage and execute annual audit procedures.

Assist in developing, analyzing, and monitoring budgets and financial forecasts.

Provide executive leadership with actionable insights and recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, encouraging growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Administer and optimize the company's budgeting system and accounting software, including NetSuite. Requirements - Proven expertise in managing accounting operations, including AR, AP, payroll, and financial reporting.

Strong familiarity with accounting software systems such as NetSuite, BlackLine, and Concur.

Experience with auditing processes and regulatory compliance.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain budgets and forecasts.

Proficiency in CRM systems and financial analysis tools.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Exceptional leadership and team development skills.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
