Basic Function/Overview:The Line Cook provides an outstanding
experience for our guests by helping plan and preparing food in our
kitchens. The chef is responsible for helping ensure the quality and
variety of the menu meets the needs and expectations of our guests. Food
preparation as well as some administrative duties are integral parts of
this position.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensures the kitchen runs smoothly.
Prepares menu items with consistent results with ease and
efficiency.
Helps with the preparation of food for cooking or serving, such as
cutting vegetables and preparing sauces.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and often stressful work
environment.
Passion and enthusiasm for the food industry.
Follows orders from supervisors.
Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients
and supplies.
Stocks workstations and ensures cleanliness by covering, labeling,
and dating food items, then storing them properly.
Handling kitchen cutlery efficiently and safely.
Checks inventory stocks and the quality of supplies.
Complies with all health and safety regulations.
Assists the head chef with service as necessary.
