Corporate Counsel

Location: Addison, TX

Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office

Are you an experienced attorney with a strong background in transactional real estate and contracts? Our client, a leading private homebuilding company, is seeking a talented Corporate Counsel to join their expanding legal team in Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and contribute to the company's continued success.

Position Overview:

The Corporate Counsel will work within the company's legal department, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role will focus primarily on transactional legal matters, contract negotiation, and litigation oversight, providing critical legal support across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate land purchase agreements, construction contracts, and other transactional documents.

Due Diligence: Perform due diligence activities for land purchase transactions.

Corporate Compliance: Conduct corporate audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Legal Risk Management: Advise executives on legal risks and provide strategic guidance for day-to-day business operations.

Litigation Oversight: Manage pre-litigation activities and assist in coordinating litigation, including working with outside counsel to ensure effective representation.

Note: This is an in-office position based at the Dallas location. Remote work is not available for this role.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar of Texas preferred.

5+ years experience practicing transactional real estate law, either in a law firm or corporate environment.

Experience in homebuilding, construction law, or real estate litigation is a plus but not required.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Collaborative and relationship-focused mindset.

High ethical standards with sound judgment in handling sensitive matters.

Acute attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
