Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a Contract to permanent position. This hybrid role, based in Tarrytown, New York, offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while working both remotely and in-office. The ideal candidate will excel in balancing multiple responsibilities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data through detailed analysis.

Create and maintain schedules to support the monthly financial close process.

Manage and code corporate credit card transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable processes, stepping in as needed.

Collaborate with team members to optimize month-end close activities and reporting.

Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets, for internal stakeholders.

Support the implementation and utilization of financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.

Proficiency in financial software such as Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks is required.

Strong knowledge of month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation and financial reporting.

Ability to perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews.

Familiarity with corporate credit card management and coding processes.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
