The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.

Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.

Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.

Meet contractual conditions of performance.

Review the work progress daily.

Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.

Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.

Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Undertake other duties as assigned by the Project Director/CO

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the field of Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field

7+ years of experience in construction project management with a focus on on-site construction experience across all phases of project delivery

Deployed to OCONUS locations 95% of the time

Background check with the ability to obtain top-secret clearance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.

Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Understanding all facets of the construction process.

Familiarity with construction management software packages.

Ability to plan and see the "big picture".

Competent in conflict and crisis management.

Leadership and human resources management skills.

Strong organizational, communication, and managerial skills, and self-motivation, yet effective in teams and with senior management.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Must be able to work up to 50 hours a week, six days a week, 10 hours a day
