Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our team in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and account reconciliations for key business units. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, a focus on process improvement, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities:

Complete monthly accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts, to ensure timely and accurate financial close.

Analyze and review general ledger account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Conduct financial analyses to identify trends and support critical estimates, including accruals and reserves.

Partner with cross-functional teams to prepare and report on financial results, fostering collaboration and transparency.

Develop schedules and documentation to support financial disclosures and reporting requirements.

Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls by documenting and testing design and operational effectiveness.

Work closely with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews, providing necessary support and documentation.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, standardization, and system capabilities.

Assist in finance transformation initiatives by segregating accounting activities from planning and forecasting tasks.

Promote a culture of safety by adhering to policies and addressing workplace hazards proactively. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

At least 4 years of experience in finance and/or accounting roles.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and related accounting principles.

Certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.

Proficiency with accounting software, including SAP or Agris, and advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

Experience in process improvement and implementing system enhancements.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams.
