Job Title: Construction Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead construction activities for large-scale solar projects in Florida. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction management, particularly with large ground-mount solar installations or comparable energy generation projects.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the day-to-day construction activities for large-scale PV projects within Florida, ensuring adherence to timelines, construction budgets, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Lead, guide, and supervise construction within the four key PV construction groups: civil, piling, mechanical, and electrical.
Manage and coordinate with the procurement team for the purchase of construction materials and equipment, selection of subcontractors, and supporting contract negotiations as necessary.
Monitor and evaluate construction progress within active sites, identifying and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
Conduct regular on-site reviews to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, policies and procedures, inventory management and receiving procedures, QA/QC inspections, and reporting requirements.
Ensure accurate documentation status throughout construction and provide daily/weekly/monthly progress reports to management highlighting planned-versus-actual construction.
Essential Skills
Demonstrable experience in construction management, specifically with large ground-mount solar installations.
Familiarity with construction management and project management software tools, such as Procore or Site Mark, and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Commitment to implementing and maintaining the highest on-site health and safety standards and procedures.
Knowledge of relevant construction processes, codes, and regulations relating to solar energy projects.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functional teams and other stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in work-front planning and resource allocation, subcontractor management.
Ability to manage construction reporting and quality control.
Collaborative work style - managing interactions with project engineers, project management, and subcontractors' supervisors/forepersons.
