Accounts Payable Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in Newport Beach, California. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to lead and oversee a high-performing accounts payable team while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing a high volume of invoices. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in financial operations.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounts payable team, including a team of four staff members.

Oversee the processing of approximately 15,000 invoices monthly, with 80% involving purchase orders.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including proper coding, batching, and releasing of invoices.

Coordinate the setup and release of daily accounts payable batches in systems such as Lawson and secondary platforms.

Monitor and maintain accurate records related to purchase orders, accrual accounting, and automated clearing house transactions.

Collaborate with supply finance and other departments during system integrations and process transitions.

Provide training and guidance to team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to best practices.

Prepare reports and analyses using advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

Facilitate audits and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable processes.

Uphold high standards in the workplace, including dress code and conduct expectations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable or similar financial roles.

Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Lawson and secondary platforms for purchase orders.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, auditing, and automated clearing house (ACH) transactions.

Experience with 2- and 3-way purchase order matching processes.

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to work onsite with a team-oriented approach and maintain professionalism.
