Job Title: Superintendent of ConstructionJob Description

The Superintendent of Construction will oversee the execution of a Pharma Project in Trenton/Ewing, ensuring the quality and timely completion of construction tasks. This role involves generating schedules, monitoring field operations, managing subcontractor scopes, supervising teams, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

Generate the primary and two-week look-ahead schedules and provide weekly updates.

Monitor the performance of field operations and assist in primary subcontractor scopes.

Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.

Manage quality control and ensure job site safety and security.

Review submittals, prepare daily reports, and conduct weekly subcontractor meetings.

Maintain as-built drawings and direct project close-out procedures.

Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of the project and arrange assignments of project personnel.

Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and assist the Project Manager in securing appropriate change orders for project cost and time adjustments.

Enforce company policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks related to subcontractor and vendor performance.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience leading construction projects as a Superintendent.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Experience with wood frame construction projects.

Ability to read blueprints and site safety regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ProCore.

Ability to manage a team, resolve disputes, and foresee potential cost or schedule issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with commercial construction and ground-up fit-out projects.

Understanding of contracts and ability to ensure compliance.

Background in multi-family or assisted living construction is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily on-site at projects throughout New Jersey, focusing on clean rooms and lab fit-out work within a 25,000 sqft space. The position offers permanent status after a probationary period, with benefits including employer contributions close to 80%, a 401K match of 5-7% annually, 19 days of PTO (including 2 weeks PTO, 3 personal days, and 5 holidays), and a performance bonus of 5-10% annually.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
