Accounts Payable Analyst

Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team in Vacaville, California. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position within the food and food processing industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:

Review and validate invoices to ensure they have proper documentation, approval, and ledger coding before processing payments.

Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Prioritize invoices based on payment terms and cash discount opportunities to optimize payment schedules.

Process payment requests, including checks and wire transfers, while obtaining necessary authorizations for disbursements.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding payment issues by working closely with vendors and internal departments.

Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries and maintain strong relationships with payees.

Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve any issues related to accounts payable.

Provide regular updates to management on significant issues, trends, or discrepancies identified during routine activities.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas where accounts payable processes can be enhanced. Requirements - Associate degree in Accounting or at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in consumer goods or manufacturing; a bachelor's degree is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with integrated accounts payable and general ledger systems.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in invoice processing and account reconciliation.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Familiarity with NetSuite and Concur systems is an advantage.

Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
