Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Midlothian, Virginia. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support organizational goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate across departments to enhance financial efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

Manage and maintain the general ledger, including account reconciliations and recording proper journal entries.

Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, analyze variances, and provide financial forecasts to support decision-making.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including overseeing tax filings and audits.

Handle complex accounting tasks such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and consolidations.

Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize risks.

Provide mentorship and oversight to less experienced accountants, ensuring accuracy and fostering growth.

Use accounting software, such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP, to optimize financial processes.

Partner with departments like payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and finance to streamline operations. Requirements - Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Knowledge of compliance requirements for local, state, and federal regulations.

Ability to manage complex accounting tasks, including revenue recognition and consolidations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and mentoring.
