Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Aurora, Colorado. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting various accounting operations. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and intercompany transactions. This position is fully onsite and could require overtime.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards.

Manage and oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses.

Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts and provide variance analysis for management.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and organizational policies.

Support external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.

Lead process improvement efforts to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy within accounting functions.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting operations as needed.

Assist with the implementation and improvement of ERP or accounting software systems.

Mentor and support junior accounting staff, sharing expertise to foster development.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

Proficiency in account and balance sheet reconciliations.

Solid knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entries.

Expertise with month-end close processes and bank reconciliations.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.

Familiarity with accounting systems such as Oracle and SAP.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
