Description

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Accounting Manager to join a dynamic, fast-paced team in Tyler, Texas (can be primarily remote, but someone would need to be willing to travel). This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for a mid-career individual eager to take on a leadership role in managing day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to long-term organizational growth. The role offers significant visibility and direct collaboration with senior leadership, making it a pivotal position within the company.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage weekly payroll processes, ensuring accurate timesheet entries and proper allocation of labor costs to projects.

Supervise job costing and progress billing, ensuring invoices are generated correctly and payments are applied promptly.

Oversee accounts payable processes, including reviewing and processing vendor bills on a biweekly schedule.

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for over 20 corporate cards, ensuring accuracy and timely month-end closings.

Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, providing management with clear and actionable financial insights.

Maintain compliance with internal controls and prepare documentation for external audits.

Assist with integration efforts related to company acquisitions, supporting alignment of systems and processes.

Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Address urgent field-related requests and operational issues as they arise, ensuring smooth workflows.

Requirements

A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in general accounting roles, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and the ability to use the software independently.

Strong skills in reconciliations, job costing, cash flow management, and financial statement preparation.

Detail-oriented and proactive, able to thrive in a fast-paced and hands-on work environment.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and address time-sensitive needs.

Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain organization under pressure.

Experience with project-based billing or time-and-materials environments is preferred.

Background in supporting privately held businesses or involvement in system integration work is a plus.
