Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Afton, Wyoming. In this role, you will handle various aspects of medical billing and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in claim administration. Responsibilities:
Submit accurate and timely medical claims to insurance providers and other payers.
Verify patient account details for completeness and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Follow up on denied claims and gather additional information to facilitate resolution.
Maintain and monitor accounts receivable aging reports, ensuring timely follow-up on unpaid balances.
Process and allocate insurance payments to the correct patient accounts.
Ensure all billing practices comply with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
Identify patterns in denied claims and recommend process improvements to enhance claim success rates.
Manage critical access hospital (Method II) and provider-based billing processes.
Utilize Medicare Direct Data Entry (DDE) systems to handle Medicare claims efficiently.
Address administrative appeals and manage denials effectively. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or a related field.
Proficiency in medical billing codes, insurance processes, and reimbursement guidelines.
Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record systems, with Epic experience preferred.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing processes.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively while adhering to Mountain Time hours.
