Job Title: Manufacturing Team Cell Lead

Pay : $23-25.00 per hour based off relating experience

Shift : 6am-2:30pm is regular shift schedule. (Overtime outside based off demands & availability)

Location : Grayslake, IL

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Production Lead to join our team during the 1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm. As a Cell Lead, you will ensure that the team stays on schedule and production is completed efficiently, while maintaining high quality standards and practicing lean manufacturing principles such as 5S.

Responsibilities

Complete first piece inspection of products to ensure they meet quality standards and continually monitor quality during production.

Motivate team members to enhance production quantity and maintain high production standards.

Set standards for team members and guide them on daily expectations.

Inspect finished orders and verify that they meet criteria according to blueprints.

Evaluate tools and equipment for proper functionality and troubleshoot malfunctions.

Train new employees and existing team members on: equipment operation, manufacturing processes, and safety procedures.

Report to daily manufacturing meetings to discuss production needs with other cells.

Update and monitor Gemba boards daily, identifying concerns and providing solutions.

Assist with daily work, including setting up and operating machinery, guiding team members, and monitoring machinery adjustments.

Order routine supplies to ensure efficient cell operations.

Maintain accurate work records and monitor team performance, assisting with performance appraisals.

Essential Skills

3+ years of Production Lead experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience overseeing 4-5+ people.

Basic computer knowledge.

Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings.

Mechanical aptitude/machine set up experience is a plus

Effective communication skills.

Proactive workload planning and organization.

3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience with 5S or lean manufacturing principles.

Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Work Environment

The work is performed in a shop environment where employees are exposed to elements such as noise and dust. Physical requirements include continuous standing, moving, and reaching, along with frequent walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items. Occasionally, lifting and moving up to 50 lbs is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grayslake, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
