The Senior Manager, Restaurant Hardware Solutions, is part of the Restaurant Infrastructure & Operations team within Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO). This role reports to the Restaurant Hardware Solutions Director and is responsible for leading and growing global restaurant hardware standards to include categories not previously led at a Global level. This individual will also be responsible for optimizing the hardware management lifecycle process, from intake through standards definition, including product assessment and selection, testing, communication, and governance structure.

Lead all aspects of the Restaurant Hardware Solutions strategy and coordinate a team of technical product managers and platform leads to complete that strategy.
Contribute to definition and ongoing refinement of a rolling 3-year Restaurant Hardware Solutions roadmap, with focus on priority, goal, capacity, and dependency management.
Build methods, processes, tools for hardware lifecycle management, define requirements, assess options, select approved solutions.
Supervise the Restaurant Hardware Governance Committee to acquire cross-functional input and approvals for new global approved hardware solutions and standards.
Own and handle a portfolio of restaurant hardware solutions and associated global standards, including continuous evaluation of performance of existing solutions and certifying replacement solutions based on end-of-sale cycles.
Develop relationships with strategic hardware suppliers; influence supplier product roadmaps where applicable.
Apply a product mentality to the Hardware Solutions portfolio. Apply Jira and agile ceremonies such as two-week sprints to help with backlog organization, sprint scheduling, prioritization, sprint implementation, roadmap progress updates, etc.
Identify and communicate trade-off impacts to team goals and roadmap when priorities shift
Collaborate with Segment teams to find opportunities to streamline Market effort related to hardware lifecycle management.
Establish metrics to measure impact of new global approved hardware solutions
Implement automation where applicable (e.g. hardware certification testing).
Gather market and end user feedback to identify challenges / opportunities with existing hardware solutions; develop relationships with Global Operations, Restaurant Design, and other Technology teams to effectively partner on new hardware solutions.
Maintain a strategic focus while retaining an appropriate level of hands-on management.
Decompose significantly sophisticated problems into straightforward solutions. Consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions.
Remove bottlenecks to enable teams to work independently. Drive team members to proactively identify gaps and opportunities (e.g., services, workflows, tooling).
Ability to build and promote an inclusive collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
12+ years of technical product management or relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 8+ years relevant experience with a master's degree.
1+ years working with restaurant or retail hardware solutions and platforms.
Experience leading technical teams that handle a strategically important product and/or a suite of products.
Experience in influencing senior leaders (VPs, SVP, CxO), and setting expectations for major multi-functional initiatives.
Solid understanding of technology hardware and infrastructure, with desire to expand that knowledge to the McDonald's restaurant hardware solutions portfolio, including servers, peripheral devices, screens, and third-party technology solutions such as digital menu boards and drive thru audio systems.
Demonstrated ability to handle technical products from an unclear problem statement, driving clarity, understanding, and opportunity assessment, handling trade-offs and evaluating potential concepts with internal and external partners using design thinking and agile principles.
Experience balancing priorities within a technical backlog.
Demonstrable experience in identifying and addressing customer needs through development and adoption of new or enhanced products and services.
Demonstrated ability to deliver successful technology and infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to proactively identify and address challenges that may arise within the restaurant hardware solutions function.
Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills; capable of showing strength with hard data and metrics to support arguments, develop product strategies, and measure success / value realization..
Experience negotiating contracts and handling suppliers to deliver high quality products or services, on time and on budget.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical knowledge of hardware solutions, including an understanding of hardware components, systems, and technologies.
Background in product innovation, commercialization and certification.
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and partner across departments and geographies within a global organization
Displayed proficiency in managing and navigating to achieve results within a globally distributed organization
Deep understanding of global complexities and differences between markets / regions
Experience handling P&L of a program and developing/handling financial forecasts to communicate return on investment and spend rate.
