Associate General Counsel Senior
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of remote work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.
The Associate General Counsel Senior will serve as a senior attorney on the Government Benefits Legal Team. This position will be responsible for leveraging in-depth knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid managed care and will provide strategic advice and recommendations to executives and management on highly complex matters which have a broad organizational impact and high level of risk. Partners with clients to drive strategic outcomes and make complex decisions.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Providing legal guidance on regulatory issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental health care programs, with a particular focus on fraud, waste, and abuse, compliance and provider contracting arrangements/transactions.
Using professional legal theories and best practices to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles and to achieve enterprise objectives in an original and highly effective way.
Serving as an expert in Medicare Advantage regulatory matters due to the combination of advanced legal and business knowledge.
Providing general and detailed instructions for more junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management.
Managing and working on extremely complex and multifaceted problems in which analysis of solutions and/or facts require an evaluation of intangible variables.
Developing methods, approaches, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Providing ad hoc work direction and supervision to other legal staff regarding support on active cases, though such leadership is subordinate to the main technical focus of this role.
Assessing and mitigating risk on even the most difficult and challenging issues.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a JD, current license to practice law and minimum of 15 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure including experience in managing outside counsel; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
Experience managing outside counsel strongly preferred.
Experience dealing with regulatory, transactional & operational issues impacting Medicare and Medicaid managed care is strongly preferred.
Experience in advising on Medicare and Medicaid issues specific to Puerto Rico preferred.
Bilingual in English & Spanish (written and spoken) preferred.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $210,340 to $316,008.
