In the role of Civil Construction Inspector I, we'll count on you to:Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelinesMonitor, record and inspect progress on construction projectsCoordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testingReceive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progressPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsTechnical school or Associate degreeSome demonstrated experience in construction inspectionAbility to interpret construction schedulesKYTC certifications, other KYTC certifications or the ability to obtainExperience with SiteManager software Preference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
