Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Tempe, Arizona. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to our accounting operations while further developing your skills. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage payables for multiple locations efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable invoices, including performing a three-way match for purchase order invoices and obtaining proper approvals for non-PO invoices.

Resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure accurate account coding for assigned locations.

Manage check runs and record electronic payments for designated plants.

Organize and file paid invoices and related records across all locations.

Review vendor statements, address inquiries, and resolve any issues for assigned plants.

Investigate and reconcile outstanding items on the receipts awaiting invoice report for specific plants.

Prepare and post month-end accounts payable accrual entries for assigned locations.

Monitor, sort, and distribute daily mail and related documents.

Print and distribute activity reports as needed for the organization. Requirements - Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field.

A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably handling multiple locations.

Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice matching and discrepancy resolution.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and resolving payment inquiries.

Familiarity with month-end accrual processes.

Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
