Description We are looking for a skilled Civil Defense Attorney to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes litigation cases, providing legal defense for trucking companies and other clients in accident-related claims. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil litigation and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal support from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeal.

Responsibilities:

Represent clients in complex litigation cases, primarily involving trucking companies and accident claims.

Conduct thorough pre-suit investigations to gather evidence and assess the merits of claims.

Handle all aspects of trial preparation, including drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Attend and conduct depositions, mediations, and court hearings to advocate for clients.

Collaborate with clients, including Fortune 100 companies and top-rated insurers, to develop effective legal strategies.

Manage case files using advanced document and case management software to ensure organization and compliance.

Analyze and respond to complaints, claims, and other legal matters with precision and efficiency.

Provide guidance on insurance defense litigation and claim administration.

Stay updated on legal precedents and changes in laws relevant to civil defense litigation.

Participate in appeals processes as needed to protect client interests. Requirements - A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense or similar practice areas.

Proficiency in case management and document management software, such as 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and Conveyancer.

Strong skills in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Hands-on experience with trial preparation, including handling depositions and hearings.

Familiarity with claim administration and complaint handling processes.

Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the California State Bar.

A proven track record of successfully managing high-exposure and complex litigation cases.
