This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.
This position supports the Governor's Workforce Development Board (GWDB), including its Executive Director, leadership, and staff, as well as the administration of the Powering Climate and Infrastructure Careers grant. It provides analytical, research, financial, technical, and organizational support for workforce development initiatives. Under general supervision, the role administers projects and programs, develops administrative procedures, manages budget reconciliation and procurement processes, responds to technical inquiries both orally and in writing, and independently reviews and researches correspondence. Additionally, this position coordinates stakeholder engagement, including meeting planning, event logistics, and communication efforts to ensure smooth program operations.
Duties Include:
Administering workforce development projects and ensuring compliance with program guidelines
Managing budget reconciliation, procurement processes, and grant administration
Coordinating meetings, events, and stakeholder engagement activities
Developing and maintaining administrative procedures and work systems
This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework-2025.pdf) eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.
This position is expected to last three (3) years.
Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years* of experience providing administrative support, such as program coordination, data management or workforce development initiatives.
*Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, political science or other closely related fields as determined by the agency may substitute one (1) year of experience; master's degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience; Ph.D. substitutes for twenty-four (24) months of experience
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
Ability to design and modify databases and spreadsheets, extract and analyze data, and develop forms and charts to support workforce development projects.
Experience using SharePoint or similar document management systems to organize and maintain program records.
Organizational skills sufficient to effectively manage multiple tasks while balancing both flexible and firm deadlines.
Ability to exercise independent judgement and self-direction sufficient to adapt to shifting priorities and manage a high-volume workload.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of statewide grants management policies, including pre-award risk assessment, grant contract agreements, monitoring and compliance, and grantee performance.
Knowledge of workforce development standards and protocol sufficient to draft professional correspondence, documentation, and reports.
Experience working in state government or public sector environments, with an understanding of applicable regulatory and operational standards.
Experience using Statewide integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) to process transactions, track expenses, and ensure compliance with state financial policies.
