Description

One of our clients is looking for a Staff Accountant in the Brentwood area for a contract opportunity.

General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and record journal entries for recurring and adjusting accounts.

Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations, filling gaps and identifying variances for resolution.

Financial Reporting Assistance: Help in preparing key month-end financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements.

Audit Support: Participate in annual audits and provide documentation as needed to external or internal auditors.

Expense Monitoring: Track expenses and analyze budget performance, working closely with internal departments for adjustments.

Compliance Oversight: Ensure accounting records comply with GAAP to uphold accurate and reliable financial results.

Process Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of accounting workflows and suggest technologies for enhanced efficiency.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CPA-track preferred but not mandatory.

Experience: 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a fast-paced corporate environment or public accounting.

Skills:

Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Proficiency in accounting systems like [QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.] and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Exceptional organizational abilities for handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

Soft Skills: Positive attitude, ability to thrive in collaborative environments, and strong communication skills for cross-departmental interaction.
