The Team
The Director of Corporate Business Finance, a key member of the global business finance leadership team, establishes global managerial reporting and analysis standards and governance; develops insightful managerial, executive, board and external reports and analyses that appropriately represent the evolving and dynamic nature of American Tower's global business and products; and identifies key performance indicators ("KPIs") that accurately represent business performance and efficiencies. The Director draws on critical data-driven insights to appropriately evaluate performance, business trends, risks, and opportunities and effectively identifies and communicates appropriate actionable steps to enhance the company's financial and capital allocation strategic priorities to key stakeholders, including senior leaders and executives, with outputs further supporting deliverables to the board of directors and investors. The Director executes on developing best-in-class reporting, analyses, and processes by managing a lean team and through cross-functional collaboration with global finance, legal, operations, sales, and investor relations teams, all while displaying a "self-starter" initiative through business curiosity and a passion for continuous process improvements, and by demonstrating the highest degree of integrity.
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree required; Master of Business Studies, Chartered Financial Analyst, or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a business environment in a financial planning or financial analysis role.
Experience with business planning software (Anaplan, Workday, IBM, etc.) required.
Excellent leadership skills. Ability to drive and motivate a team, both directly and through a matrixed organization, to achieve results. Ability to influence others and inspire action.
Ability to effectively communicate to drive the achievement of deliverables, including a strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with key stakeholders.
Ability to evolve and develop a best-in-class organization, including establishing the appropriate structure and effective assessment of professional talent and required skillsets.
Provide disciplined performance management for the team. Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated timely and professionally.
Create a robust, collaborative team environment.
Strong analytical and finance skills with a solid understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows
Excellent valuation, financial modeling, and project analysis skills, including a thorough understanding of discounted cash flows, net present values, and internal rates of return.
Ability to work effectively across many internal functional groups to partner with key stakeholders and resolve issues.
Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high-quality solutions.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills to effectively influence decision-making during critical negotiations.
High-level Excel skills, including the ability to create pivot tables and complex formulas.
The Team
Develop global reporting, analysis and KPI standards and governance that appropriately illustrate business performance, opportunities, and risks to achieve and execute near- and long-term financial plans. Provide critical data-driven insights and recommendations to drive decision-making, including by executive leaders, and aimed to maximize growth and total shareholder value.
Implement and maintain robust data management systems to streamline the collection, validation, and reporting of financial data.
Comprehensively analyze financial, operational, and statistical information from business units to support the quarterly earnings release process, including synthesizing financial performance and global variance analyses into meaningful messaging and actionable information for external reporting and messaging.
Partner with the Investor Relations team to support and evolve best-in-class disclosures that appropriately measure and message the company's global business performance to investors and sell-side analysts.
Develop recurring board of directors materials, presentations, and ad-hoc support around business and portfolio performance, financial strategy, and capital allocation.
Collaborate with functional leaders to drive continuous process, data, and reporting improvements to improve the services provided to internal customers.
Other duties as assigned.
