Job Description:
Bank of America Merrill Lynch is seeking an Associate for the Real Estate Structured Finance Group in Newport Beach. Daily activities include financial modeling of commercial real estate properties, market research, credit evaluation of financing opportunities and co-managing transaction closings with senior underwriters and originators.
The Global Markets business offers sales and trading services, including research, to institutional clients across fixed-income, credit, currency, commodity, and equity businesses. Global Markets product coverage includes securities and derivative products in the primary and secondary markets.
GMSP is responsible for originating, structuring and securitizing bonds backed by various @types of collateral to provide liquidity and funding to a wide range of financial institutions, public companies, and financial sponsors; providing secured asset-based financing; advising financial institutions on asset and platform acquisitions and dispositions; and opportunistic lending situations.
RESF focuses on the origination, structuring and distribution of Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) which are typically backed by Bank of America originated loans collateralized by all commercial real estate property @types across the US and Canada. RESF also focuses on commercial mortgage balance sheet lending, commercial real estate backed CLOs and securities underwriting for institutional clients. RESF's team is based in New York with additional offices in Charlotte, Newport Beach, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago and Austin.
This job is responsible for performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, and participating in specific client and deal teams. Key responsibilities include developing client presentations and structuring and execution activities.
Responsibilities:
Analysis of commercial real estate properties and the markets they are located
Credit underwriting for CMBS and balance sheet facilities
Assist in preparing transaction presentations for senior management
Help facilitate and manage loan closings
Origination pipeline administration
Skills:
Bachelor's Degree
Min 3 years of experience in commercial real estate, mortgage brokerage, corporate finance, commercial or investment banking or related field
Strong financial modeling skills specifically with Microsoft Excel. Argus a plus
Strong business writing acumen with experience in creating sales or credit presentations
Able to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires executive thinking and problem solving.
Must be collaborative and comfortable communicating in a team oriented environment
Highly motivated and able work independently
