Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Accounta nt I based out of Denver, CO .

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Accounting & Finance team. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from the world's largest wastewater recycling and purification system in California to the iconic Hoover Dam.

In 2021, we began a transformation to re-envision our strategy to meet the nation's growing need for water and other critical infrastructure and completed its initial public trading offering in November 2023, listed for public trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market.

Today, Shimmick is at the forefront of delivering solutions to meet the nation's growing demand for water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Performs professional level accounting support, related to complex accounting tasks

Performs tasks related to company credit card program

Able to perform accounting tasks within multiple ERP modules and collaborate closely with departments such as AP, AR, Payroll, Tax Compliance, GL and Project Accounting

Responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting and able to present those reports to leadership with accuracy

Strong knowledge of GAAP

Strong communication skills and ability to multitask

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or High School diploma + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

ERP and software system experience such as CMiC, Vista Viewpoint, or similar systems

Construction industry experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Hands-on, positive attitude, professional, results-driven, problem solver, accountable

Additional Information:

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $40,000 - 75,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA. The Company also provides employer paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program. Additional voluntary benefit offerings include pet insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance, legal and identity theft protection.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
