As the Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional care and support to our residents.
Job Description
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care and support to our residents. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite . The regular shift will be 12 hour days or nights. The training schedule will be for the first two weeks, Monday through Friday, 8 am EST to 4:30 pm EST.
What You'll Do
Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying supervisor when necessary
Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outside sources
Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within their scope of practice as defined by Florida law
Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication and report to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment
Prepare paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments
Coordinate residents' appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as need for resident movement to and from the unit
Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law and notifying supervisor for further assistance
Complete incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
Complete progress notes on resident care within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility
Responsive and compliant with current resident rights and advocacy issues, adheres to and complies with facility policy
Maintain appropriate and professional behavior during interactions with residents, supervisors, and other staff members
Display professionalism throughout employment including, but not limited to, arriving to work on time, maintaining an accurate timesheet, and maintaining professional appearance as defined by facility policy
What You'll Need
Required:
Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Must hold unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse
One year of acute care or two years of clinical nursing experience
Must be CPR certified, or able to complete training
Must be able to complete full orientation at time of hire
Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion
Preferred:
Additional training or certifications related to psychiatric care
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion
