Our client, Global Leader in Technology is seeking a Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support 1 to join their team.

Job Title: Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support 1

Location: Northlake, IL

Type: Contract - 18 months

Summary:

The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions

Performs assigned tasks and escalates issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.

Leverages process knowledge and best judgment to complete next task without direct supervision.

Coordinates, prepares, and executes incoming/outgoing deliveries (e.g. purchase order [PO] receiving, Rack Movement Supervisor [RMS] activities).

Ensures complete and detailed physical inventory tracking and staging. Performs inventory cycle audits, data corrections, and various Data Center regulatory compliance or certification control audit activity.

Performs material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process.

Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.

Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all documented procedures and runbooks

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance

Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program

Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs

Operate spreadsheet programs and other @types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required

0-2 years experience required

Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time

Required Skills:

High School Diploma AND 2+ years experience warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field

Basic understanding of how to use MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Previous experience working in a data center environment. If required, Team Manager of 5-10 supplier resources
