Agency Overview:
Pursuant to Article V, Section 17, of the Constitution of the State of Florida, the State Attorney is charged with the duty of faithfully executing and enforcing the laws of the State of Florida.
The Florida State Constitution provides that there be an elected State Attorney in each of the twenty judicial circuits. The State Attorney is the prosecuting officer of all the circuit and county trial courts.
Consistent with and necessary to the performance of these duties, the State Attorney provides personnel and procedures for the orderly, efficient and effective investigation, intake and processing of all felony, misdemeanors, criminal traffic, juvenile and specially enumerated civil cases referred by law enforcement, other state, county and municipal agencies and the general public.
The Office of the State Attorney, Nineteenth Judicial Circuit serves Indian River, Saint Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties.
Conditions of employment with the State of Florida:

DISTINQUISHING CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK
This is responsible work in conducting research; analyzing and developing improved workflow processes with automated systems within a State Attorney's Office. Work is performed under the supervision of the Information Technology Director . A person appointed to this position performs highly complex and specialized work involving technical knowledge and problem analytics in the operation and maintenance of a network of personal computers, servers, and other electronic equipment.
The incumbent must be able to effectively and efficiently implement and operate new programs as they become necessary, as well as designing and configuring new systems when needed.
Periodic work performed may include evening, weekends and holidays. The incumbent will be required to live within the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit.
Work is reviewed through oral and written reports and conferences for adherence to established office policies and procedures.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK PERFORMED

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
Installs, tests and troubleshoots new hardware and software deployments for compatibility and efficiency.
Repairs and maintains agency computers and servers as necessary. Works with vendor technical support for problem solving.
Develops solutions to system problems arising due to changes in versioning, operating requirements, contractual provisions, or new conditions.
Performs data backups and ensures secure storage of digital evidence and case-related files.
Analyzes current systems for security and performance efficiency.
Researches potential new equipment and programs; makes recommendations to department director.
Responds to emergency situations as they arise.
Maintains a current inventory of hardware and software. Assists in ordering new equipment and disposal of retired equipment.
Responds to user requests for assistance at multiple office locations.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Proficiency in Windows operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and software management.
Experience with cloud-based solutions, server management (on-prem and cloud), and network security best practices.
Familiarity with trial presentation software (e.g., TrialDirector, CaseMap, or similar) and courtroom technology setup.
Experience with video and audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Audacity, or similar) for trial and case preparation.
Experience with digital forensics tools (e.g., Cellebrite, EnCase) and best practices for handling digital evidence.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of servers, workstations, and networks including data base management systems.
Proficiency with remote access and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, VPNs) for supporting remote staff.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity compliance related to legal environments (e.g., CJIS, HIPAA, or other relevant regulations).
Experience with audio/visual equipment setup for presentations and court hearings.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to write concise and clear reports.
Ability to function independently and in a team environment.
Ability to install and remove computer, parts and related equipment, i.e., printers, A/V setups.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalency or vocational school training or experience in computer operations, systems, analysis, or programing. Related education and technical training certifications may be provided for work experience.
