Holtsville, NY

Pay: $45.71 - $56.34/hour (dependent on experience and skillset)

Key qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years welding experience required, (heavy equipment and metal fabrication experience highly preferred)

Machinist / line boring experience a plus

Must be computer literate and able to learn new systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to troubleshoot technical problems, meet or exceed labor repair guidelines, possess the ability to plan and efficiently complete assigned tasks

Valid Driver's License (for as needed travel to customers)

CDL license a plus

Responsibilities:

Successfully provide service of recognized superior value

Troubleshoot problems

Efficiently utilize resources to correct problems

Document steps taken to correct problems

Maximize the efficient use of service and welding processes to provide fast accurate service and minimize unnecessary expense

Plan proper welding and fabrication procedures for efficiency

Efficiently utilize tooling and technical resources

Continually improve key processes

Effectively communicate status of welding work with supervisor

A culture that focuses on safety and safe work habits

Be an active part in the continuous improvement of H.O. Penn's safety culture

Timely completion of any required safety training for self

Adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies

Understand job risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate those risks, such as wearing all required personal protective equipment as required by task

Qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years welding experience required, (heavy equipment and metal fabrication experience highly preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Standing and walking

Lifting (up to 60lbs.)

Carrying (up to 50lbs.)

Push/pull (up to 80lbs.)

Sitting, rotation and forward bending (sitting and standing)

Hand coordination and reaching

Grip (30lbs. with both hands, 80lbs. with preferred/single hand)

Foot pedal operation

Climbing stairs and ladders

Crawling, low work (kneeling), and awkward positioning

Outdoor work (as required)

Wearing 10-20lbs. of protective clothing, including fire resistant clothing, welding helmet/shield, & ANSI-rated protective footwear (as required)
