Your day at NTT DATA

This is a high-impact leadership role for a dynamic executive who can drive global expansion, innovation, and operational excellence in data center construction. The Vice President, Global Construction will lead the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of data center construction projects across APAC, EMEA, and AMER. This role requires a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of large-scale data center development and construction methodologies, and regional regulatory requirements. The VP will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely completion while aligning with corporate objectives and sustainability initiatives.

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Execution

Develop and execute a global construction strategy that meet business growth and expansion plans.

Lead a high-performing global construction team, ensuring alignment across regions while adapting to local market conditions.

Oversee project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.

Drive continuous improvement in project execution, risk management, and cost control strategies.

Project & Program Management

Manage multiple concurrent data center construction projects across APAC, EMEA, and AMER, ensuring operational excellence.

Establish and refine best practices, construction standards, and governance models to streamline project execution.

Monitor project performance, resolve escalations, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with design, engineering, operations, and procurement teams.

Drive innovation in construction methodologies, modularization, and prefabrication to improve speed-to-market.

Financial & Contract Management

Own the global construction budget, ensuring cost-effective execution and value engineering.

Collaborate with procurement on contract negotiations with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and sustainability objectives.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

Act as a key liaison between executive leadership, regional teams, customers, and external partners.

Provide executive-level reporting on project progress, risks, and strategic opportunities.

Foster strong relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

20+ years of experience in large-scale data center construction, real estate development, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Proven leadership in managing multi-billion-dollar global construction programs.

Expertise in APAC, EMEA, and AMER regulatory environments, permitting processes, and regional construction challenges.

Strong financial acumen with experience managing CAPEX budgets and optimizing project costs.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic global organization with matrixed reporting structures.

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field (master's preferred).

PREFERRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Experience with hyperscale data center development and next-generation construction technologies.

Ability to navigate complex cultural and operational landscapes across regions.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 284,200.00 - $ 527,800.00.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
