Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Precision, Targeting, and Protection facility is seeking candidates for the position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager (M1) in Apopka, FL.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for direct supervision of a team in a multi-shift manufacturing environment. This role also supports a daily collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Global Supply Chain, Design Engineering, Production Planning, Operations Program Management, and various strategic teams across the Mission Systems enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
Manage staffing needs to support existing and forecasted program schedules for both Laser and Advanced Packaging. This will include both Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering team members.
Intense focus and ownership of employee development, conflict resolution, performance management, and technical training for staff. Ensure discipline and continuous improvement of all process standards.
Tracking department budgets including non-labor and overhead, and key milestones associated with Manufacturing initiatives.
Help develop manufacturing proposals & basis-of-estimates (BOE's) for potential contracts
Prepare capital expenses and NCTA analysis, justification, return-on-investments (ROI's), and integration into workflow/processes.
Prepare and provide regular review of manufacturing capacity planning and optimization across all production lines.
Planning and execution of Digital Thread and implementation of system and software initiatives.
Accountable for process technical ownership, optimization, and disposition including top level and subassemblies.
Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and sector/division/site metrics.
Accountable for maintenance of site-specific manufacturing standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and instruction/procedures within site MES.
Support training of manufacturing teams in compliance with released production processes.
Ability to support possible on call emergency efforts based on business needs.
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
Cross-functional experience communicating with engineering staff, support personnel, functional management, and related groups.
Ability to support onsite fulltime.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or applicable technical discipline with 5 years relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, OR a master's degree with 3 years relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering OR in lieu of a BS degree 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience with continuous progression considered.
Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience directly managing and supervising a team.
Experience working in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Experience with data analysis and utilizing SPC techniques.
Experienced with excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership.
Experience in formulating, communicating, and executing complex project plans and initiatives.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with new product introduction into a manufacturing environment. Able to transform a product concept into a fully developed, manufacturable and launchable product and associated processes.
Strong experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Teamcenter Mission Product Life-cycle Management experience
SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP system experience
Digital Manufacturing/Manufacturing Distributed Network (MDN) implementation experience
Aerospace or defense product experience
Ability to strengthen workforce skills in LEAN/Continuous Improvement experience and root cause problem solving.
Strong business and financial acumen, including capital and talent budgeting and estimate-at-completion (EAC) and Operations Review process understanding.
MANUMS
Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
