Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Review and record general ledger transactions accurately on a monthly basis.

Oversee and execute monthly close processes to ensure timely reporting.

Manage grant-related accounting activities, including compliance and reporting.

Prepare and reconcile monthly account statements to ensure accuracy.

Collaborate on the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.

Analyze financial data and variance reports to identify trends and discrepancies.

Support the budgeting and forecasting processes to align with strategic objectives.

Coordinate with internal teams to achieve organizational financial goals.

Assist in ensuring a smooth and accurate year-end audit process.

Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and workflows. Requirements - Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Strong skills in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

Familiarity with accounting standards and internal control compliance.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and meet deadlines.
