Job Title: Sandblast Operator

Job Description

As a Sandblast Operator, you will be responsible for removing carbon wicks and excess silicon from products using manual sandblasting equipment. You will load products and operate sandblasting machines, which may involve attaching products to fixtures. Additionally, you will manage the operation of several automated sandblasting machines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect the surface finish of products to determine the completion of the sandblast process and serial number location.

Prepare surfaces to sandblast serial numbers into products using manual sandblast machines.

Set up and operate both manual and automatic sandblasting equipment.

Perform tasks involving sandblasting, beadblasting, grinding, and deburring.

Ensure all processes are followed correctly to prevent defects or breakage.

Essential Skills

6 months to 1 year of sandblasting experience preferred.

Understanding of basic shop math and safety processes.

Familiarity with measuring instruments, abrasive tooling, materials, drawings, machine functions, and controls.

Experience with SiC and Silica Sand Blasting Machines, manual and auto blast cabinets, electric and air-powered hand grinders, Dremels, and various sanding tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in an industrial production environment is advantageous.

Ability to measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

A positive attitude and willingness to work in a production line setting.

Work Environment

The position is located in the sandblast department and sandblast booth, operating during the swing shift from 2pm to 10:30pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38896.00 - $50336.00/yr.
