Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Long Beach, California. This role involves performing critical accounting functions, including lease accounting, fixed asset management, and journal entry preparation. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact while working with a dynamic team in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities:

Handle lease accounting tasks, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Manage fixed asset processes such as tracking, capitalization, disposals, and depreciation schedules.

Assist in month-end close activities and prepare financial reports as needed.

Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliation for leases and fixed assets.

Utilize the Axxerion accounting system to support daily operations.

Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audit and compliance requirements.

Provide cross-functional support to team members with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Requirements - Demonstrated expertise in lease accounting and fixed asset management.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and accruals.

Familiarity with accounting systems, with Axxerion experience preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.

Previous experience in month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
