Job Description Summary
The Head of Finance and Financial Assets Technology provides leadership and direction in the design and development of integrated processes, applications, security, data, and technology solutions to overcome business challenges and meet Transamerica's strategic objectives, overseeing our critical financial platforms including financial reporting, hedging, trading systems, and reinsurance administration. This executive role requires both deep technical expertise and strong leadership to standardize and automate platforms with legacy technical environment while accelerating our financial strategies. You'll drive cost reduction through modern cloud architecture while ensuring stability, security, and regulatory compliance. This role will lead the IT strategy and support for our Finance department, Financial Assets business unit, and all corporate functions.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction in designing and developing integrated processes, applications, security, data, and technology solutions to overcome business challenges and meet Transamerica's strategic objectives.
Lead large-scale modernization projects and teams effectively, ensuring alignment and execution across the organization and with strategic partners
Standardize services to ensure integrated architecture and security across interdependent technologies and evaluate IT capabilities against business needs.
Oversee stakeholder management, demand and capacity management, and current state analysis.
Ensure financial systems meet all business and regulatory requirements while maintaining high availability for mission-critical platforms
Address the financial, actuarial, hedging, policy administration, and operational system needs of the organization to ensure comprehensive support for all business functions
Work with senior business and IT leaders, Transamerica management board, and regulators across multiple locations to manage Transamerica's IT strategy and architectural principles.
Present comprehensive data and information to company leaders, providing insight on business direction and capabilities.
Build, lead, and manage high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Demonstrate strong vendor management skills, both onshore and offshore, to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of services
Direct staff in assessing the compatibility and integration of products.
Standardize services to ensure integrated architecture across interdependent technologies and evaluating IT capabilities against business needs.

Design, manage and monitor operation metrics and execute strategic programs to meet organizational goals for both run and change technology programs
Work with senior business and IT leaders, Transamerica management board, and regulators across multiple locations to manage Transamerica's IT strategy and architectural principals.
Present comprehensive data and information to company leaders, providing insight on business direction and capabilities.
Qualifications:
15+ years of technology leadership experience with demonstrable success in financial services applications
Deep technical knowledge of financial systems architecture including financial reporting, trading platforms, actuarial systems, and reinsurance administration
Proven record of reducing technology operating expenses while maintaining or improving service levels
Experience leading technology transformation of legacy financial platforms
Strong vendor management skills with experience optimizing onshore/offshore delivery models
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Ten years of strategic planning experience
Proven experience in building strong working relationships with executive leaders.
Leadership ability to drive alignment and execution across the organization
Solid understanding of business principles, organizational design, change management, etc.
Large scale technology budget experience
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in technology, finance, or business administration
Experience with cloud migration of financial and actuarial systems
Knowledge of insurance industry financial operations and regulatory requirements
Track record of implementing data and AI solutions to drive business insights
Deep understanding of the financial services industry
Working Conditions:
Hybrid Office environment (Cedar Rapids or Philadelphia)
Frequent travel
Compensation:
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $230,000 - $310,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
