Cost Accountant

Radius Packaging is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant located onsite at our New Berlin, WI location to enhance our financial decision-making through precise cost tracking, reporting, and analysis. You'll partner across operations and finance to optimize production costs, inventory control, and process efficiency. If you have a knack for problem-solving, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

Cost Management & Reporting:

Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs.

Prepare monthly and annual cost reports, including COGS and WIP analysis.

Conduct variance analysis and support cost forecasting and budgeting.

Inventory & Financial Control:

Maintain accurate records for inventory, raw materials, and finished goods.

Reconcile inventory and cost-related accounts to align with financial statements.

Assist with physical inventory and resolve discrepancies.

Audit Support:

Prepare audit work papers related to manufacturing costs and inventory.

Provide documentation and collaborate with external auditors.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

Collaboration with Operations & Finance:

Work closely with production and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Provide cost analysis for pricing, budgeting, and production strategies.

Assist with month-end activities including bank and account reconciliations.

Process Improvement & Standardization:

Develop and maintain cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead.

Recommend improvements to accounting practices and internal controls.

Participate in projects to reduce waste and increase profitability.

Compliance:

Ensure adherence to GMP, food safety, and quality regulations.

Maintain a hands-on, safety-first approach and work a minimum of 45 hours per week.

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required.

1-5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing or auditing cost systems preferred.

Strong understanding of cost principles, inventory management, and GAAP.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.

ERP experience preferred (IQMS or Oracle), plus exposure to analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
