Job Title: Public Information Coordinator
Reports To: County Administrator

Job Summary:
Serves as the primary liaison for internal and external communications,
media relations and outreach, and the County's online presence. This
position works closely with the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC),
the County Administrator, Department Heads and Elected Officials to ensure
consistent, transparent, and inclusive public messaging. This role is
designated as the ADA Technology Coordinator per HB 21-1110, responsible for
ensuring the County's technology and communications are accessible to

Essential Job Functions:

Communications and Outreach:
? Draft and edit official letters, press releases, op-eds,
speeches, and public statements on behalf of the BoCC and County
Administrator.
? Write and distribute articles and updates to local newspapers,
newsletters, and other publications.
? Respond to public inquiries and coordinate Colorado Open Records
Act (CORA) requests at the direction of the County Attorney or County
Administrator.
? Coordinate and disseminate timely internal communications to
County employees, as requested.
Website & Digital Communications:
? Oversee content development and day-to-day management of the
County's public and internal-facing websites and social media platforms.
? Ensure website content is regularly updated, engaging,
accurate, and accessible.
? Collaborate with IT staff and external vendors to improve
digital infrastructure and user experience.
? Implement and monitor ADA-compliant digital standards for the
website and all electronic communications.
ADA HB 21-1110 Coordination:
? Serve as the County's official ADA Accessible Technology
Coordinator under Colorado HB 21-1110.
? Monitor, evaluate, and report on the County's compliance
with state and federal ADA accessibility requirements for public-facing
technol
? Conduct periodic audits of digital platforms for accessibility
barriers and coordinate necessary remediation.
? Facilitate training and guidance for County staff on accessible
digital communications.
? Respond to public complaints or concerns regarding digital
accessibility in a timely and professional manner.
? Serves as the compliance officer for website content.
Collaboration & Strategic Planning:
? Work closely with Commissioners and County leadership to develop
communication strategies aligned with County goals.
? Support public information needs, in conjunction with the
emergency manager, during emergencies and ensure coordinated crisis
communication efforts.
? Foster positive relationships with local media, community
groups, and government partners.

? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
? Proficiency in editing, proofreading, and tailoring messages
for diverse audiences.
? Strong understanding of digital accessibility tools and standards.
? Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
? Professional presence and confidence in public speaking.
? Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal
supervision while maintaining a strong attention to detail, and producing
quality work products within tight time constraints.

Education and/or Experience :
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential
functions of the job.
? Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
or university with a degree in Communications, Public Relations,
Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field, desired.
? Minimum of three (3) years of experience in public
information, media relations, or a similar field.
? Experience with website content management systems.
? Familiarity with ADA and WCAG 2.1 digital accessibility
standards required.
? Government or public sector experience preferred.
