Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Monterey Park, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and demonstrate proficiency in financial systems and tools.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing management reports and presentations.

Perform and review reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and sub-ledgers, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Post and review journal entries while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and ensuring general ledger accuracy.

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation, and assist with implementing audit recommendations.

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, monitoring actual performance against projections, and reporting variances.

Collaborate with teams across departments to resolve accounting-related issues and provide guidance to staff on complex transactions.

Contribute to special projects, including system upgrades or implementations, enhancing efficiency and data integrity.

Provide support for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and manipulate complex datasets.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
