Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Director of Project Management to lead and develop a team of Project Managers and the delivery of project management services on major projects and programs in the battery manufacturing sector. This individual will be responsible for ensuring service excellence in terms of service delivery, continued growth of our project management service offering including client engagement and market outreach. The successful candidate will be a driven leader with great interpersonal skills.
This role involves overseeing the scheduling and coordination of retrofitting an existing factory into a state-of-the-art battery manufacturing plant for a high-profile client. You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of the project within the specified timeline and budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead, direct, and manage the project management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities.
Develop and implement project management strategies and processes. Set a clear strategy and ambition with the team in line with our Business Plan.
Oversee project planning, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Allocate resources and staff for the successful execution of projects. Proactively partner with talent acquisition team to attract the best talent, actively manage resource requirements, and plan for future staffing needs.
Monitor and control project timelines and budgets. Track ongoing revenue, margin levels, and monthly fees and resource requirements for each commission.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Lead communications with the client and oversight of project management team services.
Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders. Develop a detailed understanding of the market, act as a brand ambassador, and create a pipeline of opportunity with existing and new clients.
Ensure project risks are identified and mitigated. Develop priority plans including risk mitigation through internal tools, performance measurements via Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and appraisal documents.
Report project status, issues, and risks to executive management. Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, directors, and staff.
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making within the team and among stakeholders.
Maintain quality assurance and ensure compliance with relevant industry or company standards. Ensure compliance with quality standards and participation in ISO audits.
Conduct project review and create detailed reports for executive staff.
Continually develop and enhance project management methodologies and practices. Identify and act upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
Lead the project management efforts specifically related to battery retrofit projects.
Ensure integration of battery systems with existing factory infrastructure.
Develop and implement innovative solutions for retrofitting existing facilities to accommodate battery manufacturing processes.
Lead research related to construction market conditions, including analysis of official published data.
Produce thought leadership reports providing valuable insights to the construction market.
Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities.
Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients, and drive the client diversification agenda.
Preparation of proposals/RFP responses for new clients/projects. Attend relevant networking events and other promotional opportunities with directors.
Grow and develop exceptional people, promoting a culture of learning, respect, and inclusivity. Support the training and mentorship of current staff and promote upward career trajectory.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of relevant construction project management experience, including 2+ years managing large high-performing multi-discipline teams in a consulting environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
In-depth knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Experience with battery retrofit projects, including integration and innovative solutions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional business development ambition and acumen, with demonstrated experience in driving business growth.
Major construction sector experience working with high-caliber clients in commercial real estate, data centers, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, etc.
Fluency in Korean is advantageous.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $190K-$220K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. ?
