Description

Robert Half is partnering with one of their clients on their recruitment efforts to find a full-time, direct hire, Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with accuracy and efficiency.

Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.

Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial transactions.

Prepare and post journal entries to document financial activity.

Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Analyze and interpret financial data to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategies.

Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.

Utilize accounting software such as Ellucian Banner, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace to streamline processes.

Contribute to the organization's commitment to equity and inclusion by working effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

Requirements

Solid understanding of accounting principles, including not-for-profit accounting practices.

Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and databases, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Google Workspace.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships.

Capacity for critical thinking and logical reasoning, complemented by excellent organizational skills.

Demonstrated integrity and adherence to ethical standards in detail-oriented settings.

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
