The Manager - Strategy & Finance is a role focused on supporting multiple projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion in accounting, finance, and operations related functions. In many cases, you would be directly assigned to our largest and most important projects, serving as the CFO and trusted advisor to Operations Managers and Executive Management. The primary focus of this position includes: managing and developing careers of business team members, establishing trust and credibility with upper level management, and providing meaningful insight and accurate analysis to those same managers for decision making purposes. The Manager - Strategy & Finance position also requires strong leadership skills, relentless ambition for continuous improvement, and polished technical and soft skills.

District Overview
Kiewit Energy was established to better serve the diverse and expanding energy market. Kiewit Energy provides cohesive engineering, procurement and construction services to the oil, gas, refining, chemicals, petrochemicals, biofuels, and other process industries. Early Contract Involvement presence offering clients long-term relationships, providing integrated schedules, realistic construction estimates, and construction driven execution planning.
Location
This position is based out of Houston, TX. We offer a hybrid work schedule where you can work in the office 3 days per week/work from home 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
Analyzes and effectively communicates financial results of the project to upper level management
Earns trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from Operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization
Understands financial reporting - including the upstream effects of reporting to other areas of the organization
Manages the division of responsibilities and communication between various project & home office departments
Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive change
Effectively utilizes the right data, reports, and tools for risk analysis and benchmarking
Reviews all project and estimate cash flows, contract terms, and change orders in detail for financial risks and opportunities
Recognizes when and who to escalate specific conversations/issues
Understands, substantiates, and reconciles all financial reports monthly and annually
Creates an inviting workplace that motivates and challenges each team member to achieve career goals and strive for opportunities
Understands the needs of the organization, aims to bring in high quality talent, and continually develops team members through critical conversations and performance reviews
Monitors results of new processes, trouble-shoots failures and issues, and presents solutions to unsolicited problems
Must be able to articulate and summarize information and results to executive management. Accountable for cash management and forecasting.
Accountable for the preparation and completion of internal audits.
Provide leadership and coaching to business and administration staff, assisting with development plans and performance evaluations.
Involvement in our compliance programs including, regulations and accounting policies.
Maintain records as required regarding job progress, costs and tracking of change orders.
Responsible for client billing and revenue collection.
Perform other duties as required by leadership.
Qualifications
5-10 years of financial/data analysis in the oil, gas, & chemical industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree is require
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Effective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities
High level of professionalism and standards
Managerial experience
Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
Travel and/or relocation may be required for this position (up to 20%)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA, MBA, or public accounting experience preferred
Knowledge of or familiarity with principal field business management systems: SAP
Proven track record of successfully developing or managing a team
