JOB SUMMARY: An operations manager is responsible for the direct leadership and direction of the assigned area of responsibility. This position is expected to understand, plan, organize and control their area of responsibility to meet Coldspring s goals for safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale (QCDSM). Additionally, this position requires interaction with other leaders / managers and is responsible for supporting and assisting areas outside of their direct area of responsibility to ensure success for Coldspring. An operations manager is not personally successful if CSG is not successful. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and encourage employee involvement to generate suggestions for improvement, ensure effective cross training, ensure a safe work environment, and an overall positive morale Conduct employee performance appraisals reviews with every direct report every six months, develop supervisor growth plans with supervisors, and participate in performance appraisals conducted by supervisors Develop Maintain employee training, making certain that employee development plans exist (cross training), applicable ETNs are assigned, training is conducted in a timely manner, and employees do their jobs according to the standards established Develop Maintain systems that provide a forecast of customer demand by work content, plans to meet customer demand, and required staffing levels Develop Maintain a value stream map(s) that summarize standard routes for various @types of work, the cost drivers for the different @types of work content (including raw product utilization / yields), plans to meet corporate improvement goals, opportunities for better technology and preparation of AFEs as appropriate Develop Monitor Review Coach the use of QCDSM boards, safety system utilization and improvement plans, human resources system utilization and employee development plans, quality system utilization and improvement plans, delivery system utilization and improvement plans (including scheduling), financial system utilization and improvement plans (including yields & pricing), 5S and visual management improvements, TPM and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement plans Continuous improvement of self by participating in at least 2 internal Kaizen events annually, visit at least 2 other lean manufacturing (non-granite) practitioners annually, increase understanding of CSG strategy and financial model, and communicate with and educate CSG management about areas of responsibility SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Above average verbal and communications skills Must be able to direct and lead people Thorough knowledge of operations, including safety requirements and lean manufacturing Strong mechanical background Be goal orientated with ability to understand corporate objectives and create improvement plans with metrics for quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale that align with directions of Coldspring MAKE YOUR MARK AND MAKE IT LAST If you are an individual with a disability and require a reasonable accommodation to complete any part of the application process, or are limited in the ability or unable to access or use this online application process and need an alternative method for applying, please call or text Karissa Lintgen at 320-685-4681 or email Karissa at klintgen@coldspringusa.com for assistance.
