HEAT TREAT OPERATOR

3rd Shift : 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM Sunday - Thursday

(OT required as needed)

A Heat Treat Operator at Scot Forge plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by managing the heat treatment of forged metal components. This process enhances the mechanical properties of metals, such as strength and durability, to meet specific customer requirements. Scot Forge emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement and employee ownership, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.

Summary of Job Duties:

Maintain knowledge of process through training, perform scheduled observations, and provide quality feedback in order to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

Review scheduled shop orders for day's loads and retrieve necessary materials for processing

Program and monitor furnace cycles via temperature controllers, adjustments and record readings

Visually inspect materials for flaws and defects.

Load and unload materials into furnaces according to established load sheet instructions keeping in mind product support and furnace uniformity.

Perform Brinell testing operations and record results in accordance with established specifications.

Ensure verification and maintenance of part identity throughout processing.

Read and understand basic blueprints (weights, product sizes locations, hardness, test location)

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in operating industrial heat treatment equipment.

Understanding of metallurgical principles related to heat treatment.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

.High School Diploma or GED required. .

Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. as needed.

Manufacturing: Loud
