Job Overview:

TheAdministrative Assistantfor Physical Therapywill use clerical and organizational skills to keep the department organized. This position will perform clerical duties such as scheduling patients, patient registration, ordering supplies for the office, and insurance verification.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school graduate with secretarial experience or high school plus clerical training

Must demonstrate English fluency and possess good written and oral communication skills

Basic math and proficient computer skills required

Strong organizational and problem solving skills required

Preferred:

Microsoft Office experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

Monday Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Essential Functions:

Communicate in person or by telephone to schedule appointments, receive and direct referrals, clarify diagnoses and give or receive information

Coordinate community cab transportation for outpatient appointments as needed

Work with insurance companies to verify coverage

Enter authorization and pre-certification information in the registration system

Coordinate appointment changes and cancelations

Compete monthly outpatient re-registration

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly statistics

Route new orders within the department

Prepare evaluation forms as needed

Perform computer functions

Assist in the orientation of department personnel to clerical responsibilities and computer system

Prepare and/or @type other reports and correspondence,

Maintain files

Handle, distribute and release outpatient records

Direct mail and handles correspondence

Photocopy and fax forms, reports and documents

Maintain an adequate inventory of clerical supplies and forms
