Visa is seeking a proactive product, business, and commercial lawyer to
join its growing legal team that supports Visa's Value-Added Services
organization. The position is for an Associate Counsel, who will report to a
Senior Managing Counsel, Visa Legal, Value-Added Services
The role includes responsibility for providing commercial legal support for
Visa's issuer processing platform, either as the lead commercial attorney
or as part of a small team of experienced counsel. Products and services
include Visa's new and existing Value-Added Services relating to issuer
processing products. The attorney will work closely with other experienced
Visa lawyers and compliance professionals and regularly engage directly with
business clients

strong analytical, client counseling, and negotiation skills, be an
adept issue spotter and creative problem solver, be self-motivated, and,

Essential Functions
Draft, negotiate, and drive to completion complex commercial agreements
that achieve business objectives, and continue to support those business
relationships once consummated.
Provide sophisticated and creative counseling and advice to business teams
regarding commercial and contracting considerations.
Lead review of product related marketing and sales materials.
Work closely with Visa's regional legal and business teams globally and
assist these teams in resolving regional and local issues, including to
achieve consistency on approaches and issues by Visa worldwide.
Review externally facing documentation for compliance with securities laws,
disclosure policies, data use policies and requirements, competition law
issues, etc.
Where required, coordinate and supervise outside counsel for timeliness,
cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work product.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by
your hiring manager.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced
Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. degree (or international
equivalent)
Valid license to practice in the state where the job is located or the ability
to become state registered in-house counsel in good standing
At least 3 years of post-JD law firm experience
Prior experience in at least one of the following areas: payments (and
related credit and debit processing), financial services, technology or
fintech industries
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as needed, and engage
directly with business clients at all levels
Demonstrated ability to drive execution in a team environment, integrating
legal advice and business knowledge while providing balanced advice regarding
risks and benefits
Must be a practical and creative problem-solver with developed businessacumen
and the ability to understand the company's business interests and
anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various
settings
Must be able to manage and drive the legal and regulatory aspects of complex
business initiatives, both in the U.S. and internationally
Transactional background (corporate, commercial arrangements) with
extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide array of commercial
agreem
Working knowledge of privacy and competition laws
Must be able to multitask and manage a significant workload and many clients
with minimal supervisionAdditional Information

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk,

position is $152,900 to $195,000 USD per year, which may include
potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary
depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills,
